- Research in the field of carbon and Benzoin includes synthesis, production, development, and carbon products, namely: graphite, graphene, N-graphene and its alloys (graphitic carbon, transition and non-transition metals as well as rare earth metals).
- Improve the performance and application of carbon and Benzoin in various applications (batteries, fuel cells, adsorbents, polymers and chemicals).
- Collaborate with research institutions at home and abroad as well as the business world in the commercialization and application of carbon and Benzoin products).
- Research and Development hub for scientists, students and the business world in North Sumatra, Indonesia and Internationally in the field of Carbon and Benzoin.
- A forum for lecturers, researchers, students and the business world in the field of carbon and Benzoin to collaborate in developing carbon at the University of North Sumatra.
- Strengthen the organization to maintain top research and educational activities in the field of Carbon and Benzoin towards a Science and Technology Campus (STC).
- Lead the Carbon Industry through the creation of innovations in collaboration with industry and research institutions.
- Build national and international networks of research results in the field of Carbon and Benzoin with industries, state-owned enterprises, research institutions and national and international universities.
- Build a management system for carbon, Nano-Carbon Composites and Functional Benzoin/Compound Blending.
- Creation of resin/rubber/nano-carbon composites with chemical, physical and mechanical processes.
- Approach for new nano-carbon applications.
